Performance & size
- The app now starts about a third faster - measured cold-start improvement of 33% on a mid-range phone, with bigger gains expected on slower devices (ahead-of-time compilation)
- Smaller download and install size (app bundle reduced from 92 MB to 74 MB; the download your device fetches shrinks proportionally)
Seasons (new feature)
- Define your own named seasons with start and end dates (e.g. "Outdoor 2026", "Indoor 2025/26") under Settings → Seasons
- View Personal Bests and Competitions for a chosen season - season bests are computed within the season's dates, separate from your all-time bests
- The Trends chart can be scoped to a season too, and PB & Comps and Trends share one season selection
- "All Time" stays the default and behaves exactly as before
- Seasons are included in backups and Export My Data
Personal Bests & Competitions redesign
- New tab-style header (Personal Bests / Competitions) and all filters collapsed into a single Filters bar, so the report gets much more of the screen
- Returning from a scorecard, notes or analysis keeps your scroll position and reflects any change you made there
- Fixed the "Top 1/2/3" selector being clipped
Backup & Restore
- Automatic backups: the app now quietly keeps a rolling history of backups of your scoring data (taken when you leave the app), so you can recover if something goes wrong - no setup needed
- Restore from a dated list of automatic backups - pick the snapshot from before the problem rather than a single overwrite-each-time backup
- Backup & Restore page redesigned with clearer, unified restore steps
- New "Transfer to New Phone" guide - step-by-step help to move your data to a new device, with instructions tailored to iOS vs Android
- Fresh-install restore: when you reinstall the app, it offers to bring your data back if a backup is available (and no longer offers this after you've deliberately reset your data)
- A safety copy of your database is now taken automatically before any recovery or reset, so you can roll back if needed
- Automatic backups are also available on iOS
Database Health & corruption recovery
- New "Database Health" page in Settings - shows whether your database is OK and offers recovery options if it isn't
- Proactive warning if the app detects your data is damaged (for example after an interrupted backup-restore), steering you to restore from a backup first
- "Try Recovery" salvages every readable entry from a damaged database into a fresh one, keeps the original aside, and tells you honestly how many entries (if any) were on damaged pages and couldn't be recovered
- Recovery now survives an app crash, force-quit, or OS-kill part-way through - your salvaged data is restored on the next launch instead of being lost
- After a recovery, automatic backups pause until you add new data, so a partially-recovered database can't overwrite your last good backup
- Recovery now confirms the repaired database passes an integrity check before reporting success
- A damaged in-progress round now offers to resume instead of crashing, with honest "missing data" wording
- Clearer, scrollable messages and honest wording throughout the corrupt-database and recovery flows
Scoring
- Fixed scoring on the 60m and 70m Recurve Individual Matchplay (X=11) rounds - the inner X ring now scores 11 as it should, the score buttons show the correct X=11/10/9 set, and the Journal Round Scorecard for these rounds now shows its end totals correctly (including for entries you saved before this fix)
- Fixed the score display glitching before the first arrow of a round - the distance total no longer flickers "N/A" (and Animal rounds no longer briefly show "/0") while you're on the Score or Plot tab waiting to shoot
- Fixed a rare crash when swiping a journal entry just as the list refreshes (for example returning from a scorecard with your finger already on a row); the same protection was added to the Rounds list
Other
- Backup Reminder is now a single control - tap it to choose "Off" or how many days between reminders
- Fixed the weekly Arrow goal not saving when you tapped Save straight after editing the number; the whole Arrow Goal section is now tappable to open the Weekly Goal popup
- Progress report: smoother scrolling on Android, with a back-to-top button
- Settings page reorganised: Archer Details, Weekly Goal, Seasons and App Data at the top, with Database Health under App Data
- Fixed a blank editor row when editing certain saved custom rounds whose distance didn't include a units letter
- Fixed reports and scorecards garbling when a round, event, club, gear-setup name or note contained special characters such as &, < or > - these now display correctly
- Stability and diagnostic improvements
